YMMV but Hoka Bondi is the most comfortable pair of sneakers I've ever had in my life. I'm not going back to Nike. Haven't heard/seen much of them until this year too though.
You know you can just use Linux on it. I work from a Linux VM in UTM as my main desktop whole day, with Mac OS just being a VM hypervisor for me, it's pretty good!
I'd love to try Asahi some day, but it only supports older hardware up to M3 for now and feature support is rather fragmented: https://asahilinux.org/docs/platform/feature-support/m3/. As it's a small and slow moving project, it'd also unfortunately mean living with all the bugs and quirks for a long time if you choose it.
What you could do instead is just set up your favorite Linux distro in an arm64 VM and run it with UTM (a popular qemu wrapper). Works nearly flawlessly! Very usable as a daily development setup. I connect it to an external monitor and keyboard and can't believe it's not a Linux box most of the day. They even got virtualized Vulkan (almost) working now. Switching between VMs and host is trivial and you have proper virgl acceleration in VMs without fighting a lot of nonsense like I had in the past with virt-manager on Linux hardware - if you like to develop in VMs like me, this alone would justify switching from a Linux box to a Mac.
Virtualization costs me ~10-15% in multicore performance - still a bargain considering how far ahead Mac hardware is compared to anything x86. Linux arm64 is very well supported by open source these days. Just proprietary software is often behind e.g. Zoom, Slack are still missing native binaries but you could run them in a browser.

I assume it'll be a couple of years before Asahi is an option for my machine.
It's enough money for a good life and some measure of luxury, and presumably it will force prices down so things like housing will become more affordable, but it isn't enough to buy governments or private sex islands.
Unless the price of governments and private sex islands also goes down. But even then the market is more competitive and something something free market. I admit I'm not an economist, it just seems right. Then again sometimes full socialist revolution also seems right.
+1 for outliners. Logseq was the first note-taking app that really got me to a daily logging habit that stuck, great for friction-less capture of random thoughts and notes, medical and what not. Flat wiki links and backlinks take some getting used to, but absolutely amazing for discovery and organization of notes.

Interesting. Should any email provider based in any of the 5 Eyes (or even 14) be avoided? But I feel, particularly for everyday folk, we have reached the point at which avoiding some level of surveillance is now virtually impossible.
Sadly true. Even if your provider takes privacy seriously, chances are the other side is using US big tech who'd happily give away their copy of your data to any sufficiently credentialed authority.
Just to follow up. Is it your contention (basically) that any interaction with any of the Five Eyes country is suspect? I realise this puts (guesses off top of head) 95% of all internet traffic, theoretically including such 'privacy focussed' open source projects emanating from the five eyes/95%, as suspect too. Are we all incapable of being apart from that 95% (assuming you're in that 95%)?
If you liked 3B1B and prefer intuition/applications-heavy view, then definitely Strang over Axler. Check out especially his newer textbook "Linear Algebra and Learning from Data".
Axler is more of a pure math textbook - if you want to dive more into proofs and abstractions.
I would also say Axler is much better prep for higher level applied math, as well as pure. If you are interested in how the big ideas of linear algebra extend to things like Fourier analysis it's very helpful to see the more abstract explanation of vector spaces.
Pretty sure they did it to themselves with terrible policies and moderation. AI was merely the final nail in the coffin.
