It's an 175 year old institution thats trying to survive. Gotta give them a little slack IMO. The public good their journalists and editors do out weight the annoyance of those emails.

When I first got on meshcore here NJ i immediately connected with my closest neighbor repeater 20 miles away which then in turn connected me to the local NJ/PA mesh which spans almost 200 miles wide. I don't recall any cordless telephone ever doing that...

You are correct, but you say this like the prediction markets are open about this fact. They aren't and if you ask them they will deny this.

I think they are open about it. John Oliver did a piece on it last month and I recall an interview where the founder of one of these prediction markets shared this as a beneficial effect of the product.

At current rates you are losing when renting (excluding possible appreciation), that's why it's hard to sell and easy to rent. Due to low rates before homes went big in value cause you were earning even not counting appreciation, so whoever had credit was maxing it to full for easy money but now situation starts to stabilise / reverse?

You never really had to get a formal education in programming to be successful before AI either....
