Yeah I tend to squeeze the life out of my Apple purchases. iPhone 4s -> 7 -> 12 Pro Max. And still on a 2017 MBP at home, running Sequoia via Open Core Patcher.
It's capitalism taken to its extreme, yeah? You have to be more cost efficient or more capable or seem more or you lose to the competition who outperforms you there.

Tesla's system is well-integrated to the car and chargers, but its navigation is terrible. It seems to have marked a street near my home as impassible, so it takes an absurd roundabout route. This problem does not exist on Apple or Google Maps.
Consumers are just easily impressed with car infotainment at this point. If the screen takes less than 1s to respond to input and doesn’t drop 30 frames on every animation, they consider it “good”.
