ecosystem and various beam details aside erlang has tons of great stuff but it is often difficult to use, which limits it hugely and makes it feel "old" etc.

Simplifying, modernizing, and exposing all of the tracing and debugging and releasing and other goodies inside of BEAM would be huge.
